BASHUNDHARA CORPORATE CRICKET & BADMINTON TOURNAMENT KICKS OFF

A month-long Bashundhara Corporate Cricket and Badminton Tournament – 2012 began at the playground of the East West Media Group Limited.The Managing Director of Bashundhara Group Sayem Sobhan inaugurated the tournament yesterday afternoon.
Sixty four pairs of shuttlers are competing for the title in the badminton tournament while three cricket teams comprise of the members from three sectors of the group – media, land and industry will compete in the cricket tournament.
Addressing the vibrant crowd Mr. Sobhan said, “Games and sports play a very important role in construction of a society, it involves the youths in constructive works and helps them grow up with positive mind. Bashundhara has always been a patron of games and sports in the national and international arena and it will always remain so.”
He thanked the participants, organizing committee and everyone else attached to this event and hoped for the greater participation in the years to come. The Executive Director (A & F) of East West Property Development (Pvt) Limited Md. Imrul Hassan presented the welcome speech.

Bashundhara’s Biggest LPG bottle-making plant starts production

Mongla, Nov 27: Bashundhara Liquefied Petroleum Gas Limited (BLPGL), an enterprise of the Bashundhara Group, has set up the country’s only and mega facility for making international standard gas cylinder at Sundarban Industrial Complex at Mongla, says a press release. Sayem Sobhan, managing director of the Bashundhara Group, inaugurated production of the plant on Friday.
Senior deputy managing director Belayet Hossain, deputy managing director Mustafizur Rahman, senior executive director Mahbubuzzaman, adviser for press and media Mohammad Abu Tayeb of the Bashundhara Group, general manager sales and marketing Shahin Ahmed, general manager operations Engineer Zahid attended the inaugural function, among others..
The Bashundhara Liquefied Petroleum Gas Limited, since its inception, has solely been depending on the gas cylinders produced at one of its sister concern – the Bashundhara Steel Complex Limited (BSCL) at Manikganj.
In the backdrop of fast depleting reserve of the natural gas, the government in the recent years started encouraging private entrepreneurs to promote bottled LPG as alternative fuel for domestic purposes and small industries.
The project has been implemented under the technical support from two Chinese companies – Hunan Technical Import and Export Corporation and Jiangyan City Yuehai Manufacturing Company Limited.
The production capacity of the plant is 100 thousand cylinders of different size a month.
Addressing a post inaugural briefing deputy managing director of the Bashundhara Group Mustafizur Rahman said that the company would pursue the policy of serving the nation by offering pragmatic alternative to fuel crisis.
“We’ll try hard to make the product affordable and available all over the country,” he said responding to a question regarding the price of the refilled bottle of LPG.
